SketchUp bridge
The SketchUp bridge connects Korvix3D Asset Hub to SketchUp so you can export your models to Korvix3D and pull assets into the active model without leaving the viewport.
Before you install
- SketchUp 2021 or later (2021–2026 are supported).
- Korvix3D Asset Hub installed and signed in.
- In Asset Hub, set the shared folder in settings.
Install from Asset Hub (recommended)
- Open Asset Hub → Bridges → SketchUp.
- Click Install. Asset Hub detects your installed SketchUp versions automatically.
- Restart SketchUp if it was already running.
The bridge is a Ruby extension, so installation is a plain file copy — no additional runtime is required. You can also grab the package from the Download page if you prefer to install it yourself.
Where the files go
The installer copies a korvix3d_sketchup folder and a korvix3d_sketchup.rb loader into SketchUp's user Plugins directory. Replace {version} with your release (for example 2025):
- Windows:
%APPDATA%\SketchUp\SketchUp {version}\SketchUp\Plugins\ - macOS:
~/Library/Application Support/SketchUp {version}/SketchUp/Plugins/
Using the bridge
After restarting, the bridge lives under Extensions → Korvix3D in the SketchUp menu bar:
| Menu item | What it does |
|---|---|
| Export Selected | Sends the current selection to Korvix3D as a new asset. |
| Check Imports | Pulls any assets queued for import from Asset Hub into the active model. |
| Start / Stop Bridge | Starts or stops the watcher that keeps SketchUp in sync with Asset Hub. |
| Status… | Shows whether the bridge is running and which shared folder it is using. |
| Settings… | Opens bridge preferences, including the shared folder path. |
Troubleshooting
- No Korvix3D menu: restart SketchUp, then check Window → Extension Manager to confirm the extension loaded.
- Asset Hub sees no SketchUp instance: open Extensions → Korvix3D → Start Bridge, and make sure Asset Hub is running with the same shared folder configured.
- Imports not appearing: use Check Imports to pull manually, and confirm the shared folder in Settings… matches the one set in Asset Hub.
