Cinema 4D bridge

Use the Korvix3D bridge in Maxon Cinema 4D to work with assets through Korvix3D Asset Hub. Installation is manual — the desktop app does not auto-install this bridge like it does for Blender, Maya, 3DS Max, or Houdini.

Manual installation (required)

In Asset Hub, choosing Cinema 4D under Bridges may explain that this host uses a manual install. Always use the latest bridge package from the Download page and copy it into Cinema 4D's plugin location for your version.

Typical layout: a folder named korvix3d_cinema4d (and related files such as the .pyp bridge file, depending on the package) under your Cinema 4D install's plugins directory. Exact paths vary by OS and Cinema 4D version — replace {version} with your release (for example 2024 or R26):

  • Windows: C:\Program Files\Maxon Cinema 4D {version}\plugins\korvix3d_cinema4d
  • macOS: /Applications/Maxon Cinema 4D {version}/plugins/korvix3d_cinema4d
  • Linux: ~/.config/Maxon/Maxon Cinema 4D {version}/plugins/korvix3d_cinema4d

If you use Cinema 4D's preference to add extra plugin search paths, you can also point to a folder that contains the bridge files, as long as Cinema 4D loads them on startup.

Prerequisites

  • Korvix3D Asset Hub installed and signed in
  • A supported Cinema 4D version (check the Download page for current requirements)
  • Bridge files from the Download page copied into the correct plugins location

Using the bridge

Finding Korvix3D in Cinema 4D

After installation, use Cinema 4D's plugin manager to confirm the bridge is loaded, then open Korvix3D from the host menus or panels as provided by the bridge build you installed.

Importing assets

Browse or request assets from the bridge UI. Keep Asset Hub running so the bridge can reach your library and shared folders.

Troubleshooting

If Asset Hub reports no Cinema 4D instances, ensure Cinema 4D is running with the bridge installed in a path Cinema 4D actually scans. For path or version questions, contact support with your OS, Cinema 4D version, and a short description of where you copied the files.
